Healthy Communities Partnership
of Greater Franklin County

Kindness has been shown to cause a ripple effect. Research shows if you show kindness to one person, that person will show kindness to four people and those four people will show kindness to four more people and so on. These exchanges of kindness can change the world.

Teens for a Better Tomorrow (#t4bt), the youth advisory board for Chambersburg Cares, believes in this be kind attitude and has launched their first Kindness Campaign focused on intentional acts of kindness in the schools, workplaces and the community at large. We are challenging kids of all ages and adults in our community to be kind to one another - to intentionally be kind - by offering up a smile, giving a high five, paying for a stranger's drink/meal, befriending someone new, or in any way you like!

There are several aspects of the kindness campaign - see below for details about each component!

Below is a list of the 2018 Kindness Campaign components - check back soon for 2019 info!

T-shirts - Teens for a Better Tomorrow and Chambersburg Cares are selling "be kind" shirts in schools, businesses, and organizations - and would love to have everyone wear their "be kind" shirts on Fridays in February as a visible reminder to others to be kind.

Shirts are $8 for one or $7.50 for two or more. Buy shirts for you and your whole family or you can also donate a shirt for someone who can’t afford one - and let's just see how many shirts we can see throughout February (especially on Fridays!)

Buy shirts using the form on the right - or go to stores.bluemountainsportsonline.com - then select HCP - BE KIND!  Contact Christy at christy.hcp@gmail.com or (717)264-1470 x102 to learn more!

Kindness Challenge - Our teens have created a kindness challenge for February - participate in the challenge and help make our community and schools kinder places to be. Everyone can join the challenge - check out the calendar to the left!

"Kindness is Contagious" - The Community Film Night committee is hosting a free showing of the film, "Kindness is Contagious" about the science of spreading kindness!  Join us on Thursday, February 22nd at the Capitol Theatre's Wood Center - admission is FREE, but we ask you to pre-register using this link: RSVP here!  Watch the trailer here!

Kind-o-grams - Keep an eye out at local secondary schools for kind-a-grams being given out to spread kindness and remind students that kindness matters - and so do they!  We are currently collecting donations of Dum Dum lollipops - contact us at (717)264-1470 if you are able to donate!

Trojans Boys Basketball game - Join us on Friday, February 2nd at CASHS for a kindness themed final regular season home game!  More info coming soon!
